The TRANSIT project proudly participated in the IEEE PES ISGT Europe 2025 Conference, held in Valletta, Malta, from October 20–23, 2025. Throughout the event, TRANSIT showcased its commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity in the renewable energy sector through a diverse set of activities.

💡 Inspiring the Next Generation and Advancing Education

The TRANSIT team organized two interactive educational activities:

  • “Superheroes of Renewable Energy” Escape Room: A gamified experience for students, designed to spark interest in renewable energy and smart grids through hands-on challenges.

  • TRANSIT Tutorial – “Smart Grids and Renewables in the Energy Transition”: A technical workshop highlighting open-source educational tools that help learners and professionals understand the operational and economic aspects of modern energy systems.

⚡ Promoting Gender Equality and Inclusion

TRANSIT also hosted a Special Session titled “Powering Progress: Addressing Gender Bias and Disparities in Energy Systems.”
This engaging session brought together experts, practitioners, and academics to discuss the influence of gender bias in energy systems and explore collective actions to foster a more equitable and inclusive energy transition.

🌍 Recognizing Excellence in Renewable Energy

During one of the conference’s keynote sessions, the TRANSIT Awards were presented, celebrating exceptional contributions to the advancement of renewable energy and sustainability.
These awards recognized:

  • Outstanding bachelor’s and master’s theses focused on renewable energy innovation.

  • Industry leaders demonstrating strong commitment to sustainable practices and renewable technology deployment.

Congratulations to all the winners for their inspiring work and contributions toward a greener, more sustainable future!

🚀 Looking Ahead: Beyond the Project

As the TRANSIT project approaches its conclusion on November 30, 2025, its legacy continues. All materials developed during the project — including open-source educational resources, tutorials, and communication materials — will remain available on the TRANSIT website and through the project’s social media channels.

The project’s mission to bridge education, research, and industry in shaping a sustainable energy future does not end here. TRANSIT’s results and community will continue to inspire and support the next generation of professionals driving the energy transition.
