The first day of the TRANSIT Training & CM Week kicked off with a hands-on laboratory session for MSc students from the Power Systems and Automation department at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro.

Held in the Laboratory for Energy Converters for Advanced Energy Technologies, the training introduced students to key concepts in solar energy. Participants conducted experiments with solar panels and an artificial light source to observe and measure current-voltage and power-voltage curves. The concept of Maximum Power Point (MPP) was also explained and demonstrated in real conditions. Ninenteen students participated in this practical session, led by professors Milovan Radulovic, Martin Calasan, and Dr. Mihailo Micev.

The third day of the TRANSIT training in Montenegro was dedicated to MSc students of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, from the department of Power Systems and Automation, as well as partners on TRANSIT project. Three training presentations were held by TRANSIT project partners, while the last presentation demonstrated some practical experiences from power exchange market in Montenegro.

The fourth day of training and CM event in Montenegro is dedicated to training presentations, which will be held from both TRANSIT project partners and corresponding representatives from Montenegrin companies. Prof. Lidija Korunovic from University of Nis and Dr. Tomislav Baskarad from University of Zagreb will deliver presentations about compliance tests and frequency stability in the first part of the programme. After the short break, Mr Predrag Damjanovic from Energy and Water Regulatory Agency of Montenegro will give some insights regarding energy transition and regulatory frameworks that affect renewable energy sources. Finally, Thursday’s programme will be concluded with the presentation by private company ELKON owner, Mr. Nebojsa Solaja, who will provide some practical view and present various solutions for energy efficiency and energy saving.

Training week in Montenegro will be concluded on Friday, 28th March. Firstly, children from kindergarten (pre-school age) will visit Faculty and get the opportunity to meet with some basics of renewable energy, including visit to laboratory with solar panels. Afterward, training participants-MSc students and TRANSIT project partners will have hands-on training, which will be carried out as practical part of the training-visit to private company ELKON, where some of their most important renewable energy and energy efficieny projects will be presented.
