As part of the TRANSIT project (TRANSITion to sustainable future through training and education), we are conducting a research study on the societal impact of the energy transition. The purpose of this survey is to offer a social science perspective on the energy transition to investigate multiple interrelated aspects that exert a powerful impact in this process. It moves beyond the technological aspects of the energy transition to address the political, socio-technical, economic, skills and competences, labor market needs, and multiple other factors that mold the energy transition. Critical societal factors are at the core of the energy transition and need to be addressed at the local, national, regional, and European level.
